Here are some of the benefits of Scouting:

Outdoor Adventure

Cub Scouts spend a lot of time outdoors being physically active and developing an appreciation for the environment. As a pack we enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, biking, and playing games.

Service

Cub Scouts participate in service projects and community events, fostering a sense of civic duty and empathy for others. Each fall we participate in the Durham Big Sweep to clean up our community streams and parks.

Character Building

Scouting helps children develop a strong sense of character and ethics. This is exemplified in the Scout Law, which describes the fundamental principles of Scouting.

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

Fun and Friendships

And last, but certainly not least, being a cub scout is FUN! Whether building and shooting off rockets or designing and racing a car at the annual Pinewood Derby®, our pack is always having a great time being together as friends and part of a community.
